DESCRIPTION:The North Carolina Museum of History proudly presents the annua
 l African American Culture Celebration (AACC)! With support from its commu
 nity partner\, the North Carolina African American Heritage Commission\, t
 his signature event kicks off Black History Month by showcasing the rich h
 istory\, achievements\, and cultural contributions of African Americans in
  North Carolina. For 25 years\, the celebration has been hosted by the mus
 eum\, bringing together community members\, organizations\, authors\, arti
 sts\, musicians\, filmmakers\, scholars\, and more to highlight the powerf
 ul influence of African American heritage on our state’s past and presen
 t.\n\nThe AACC consists of a virtual education day on Friday and an in-per
 son festival on Saturday. Multiple demonstrations\, presentations\, and pe
 rformances reach thousands of people each year\, encouraging strong commun
 ity ties and the celebration of African American culture.\n\nNOTE: While t
 he North Carolina Museum of History building is closed for renovation\, th
 is year's festival is being held at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Acti
 vities will take place in the East Building and on the Gipson Plaza. Parki
 ng is available in the three main museum parking lots.
