DESCRIPTION:The 25th Annual African American Cultural Celebration has been 
 rescheduled for Saturday\, Febraury 28 due to weather-related concerns to e
 nsure a safe and welcoming experience for all participants and guest. \n\nT
 he Virtual Education Day will still be held on Friday\, January 30. \n\nThe
  North Carolina Museum of History proudly presents the annual African Ameri
 can Culture Celebration (AACC)! With support from its community partner\, t
 he North Carolina African American Heritage Commission\, this signature eve
 nt kicks off Black History Month by showcasing the rich history\, achieveme
 nts\, and cultural contributions of African Americans in North Carolina. Fo
 r 25 years\, the celebration has been hosted by the museum\, bringing toget
 her community members\, organizations\, authors\, artists\, musicians\, fil
 mmakers\, scholars\, and more to highlight the powerful influence of Africa
 n American heritage on our state’s past and present.\n\nThe AACC consists o
 f a virtual education day on Friday and an in-person festival on Saturday. 
 Multiple demonstrations\, presentations\, and performances reach thousands 
 of people each year\, encouraging strong community ties and the celebration
  of African American culture.\n\nNOTE: While the North Carolina Museum of H
 istory building is closed for renovation\, this year's festival is being he
 ld at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Activities will take place in the E
 ast Building and on the Gipson Plaza. Parking is available in the three mai
 n museum parking lots.
