Since the 1930s African Americans played a significant role in the development of North Carolina State Parks. Visit us February 22nd through the 28^th to learn about African Americans’ contribution to the park system. We will feature the first African American NC State Park, Civilian Conservation Corp Company 818, and leaders who have paved the way and left their mark on the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
