DESCRIPTION:Join us on Juneteenth for a reenactment of the service held in 
 St. Philips Moravian Church in May of 1865 when the Emancipation Proclamat
 ion was read aloud to a crowd of over 800 people\, many of whom were ensla
 ved. This event will include Chaplain Clark's reading of the Emancipation 
 Proclamation\, passages from the bible selected by him\, hymns and songs i
 ncluded in the original program\, and a pop up exhibit of the history of A
 frican Americans in Salem from the Moravian Archives. \n\n \n\nThis is a F
 REE event and all are welcome to attend.\n\nDoors open at 6 and the servic
 e will begin at 7. We recommend arriving before the service begins as seat
 ing is limited.
