About this Event
2229 Lake James State Park Road, Nebo, NC 28761
On the afternoon of Sunday September 13th, bring the whole family and make memories as we celebrate Grandparents Day! Spend the evening enjoying Lake James State Park and making memories.
Whether you're an experienced angler or fishing for the first time, this is a wonderful opportunity for grandparents, grandchildren, parents, and friends to enjoy a relaxing day together at beautiful Lake James State Park. Don't let not having the proper tackle stop you from joining us because we can provide rods and basic tackle to use through our tackle loaner program.
Things to bring/know: Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, NCWRC fishing regulations will apply, bring tackle and bait if you have it but we will have some available to use, water, sunscreen, and ready to have a great time.
Agenda: Meet the Ranger at Lake James State Park Visitor Center at the Paddy's Creek Access at 4:00PM to learn about the lake and the fish that call Lake James home. After a short talk and making sure everybody has the necessary tackle, the Ranger will lead all participants to the fishing pier where the Ranger will provide hints, tips, and help to the participants. There is no timeframe so you are free to leave when you like or explore other areas of the park to test out your newfound fishing knowledge.
