How many birds can you find? Combine your love for hiking at Elk Knob State Park with a little bit of science by joining Ranger Marissa in a global community science project called the Great Backyard Bird Count. During this program, we will be hiking to certain areas of the park to count any birds that we see or hear. Our observations will be uploaded to the ebird app to help scientists understand global bird populations before their Spring migration. This program is open to beginner birders and is a great program for anyone interested in learning more about birding. The hike will range from easy to moderate. Binoculars will be provided. Meet at the Summit Trail parking lot to begin.
