About this Event
160 Bynum Church Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312
From US Hwy 15-501, turn onto Durham-Eubanks Road. If coming from Chapel Hill, this will be a left turn before the Haw River. If coming from Pittsboro, this will be a right turn after crossing the Haw River. Follow Durham-Eubanks Road to the stop sign. Go straight at the stop sign and continue uphill on Bynum Church Road past the church and then downhill to the large State Parks parking lot on the right.
Learn some new bird identification skills or share some expertise with others. Anyone can participate in this nationwide citizen science project, held every President's Day weekend. We will observe bird study skins up close to practice observation skills. Then we'll amble along the river and trails to conduct our bird count. Bring binoculars if you have them, or we'll have some you can borrow. Everyone welcome, from expert birders to absolute beginners. Our guide will be Sean Higgins, Interpretation & Education Manager with NC State Parks. Free and open to the public. No sign-up required. Hosted by Friends of Lower Haw.
