DESCRIPTION:The Museum of the Albemarle will host our monthly History for L
 unch on Wednesday\, Sep. 3 at 12 p.m. in the Gaither Auditorium. Local his
 torian Chris Barber will explore how Tyrrell County’s hero of the Americ
 an Revolution\, Col. Edward Buncombe\, became American by choice. She will
  focus on the final 10 years of Buncombe’s remarkable life\, including h
 is service in the Continental Line with the 5th Regiment of the North Caro
 lina Brigade. Buncombe was injured in the 1777 Battle of Germantown\, Penn
 sylvania\, and taken prisoner by the British. Having never obtained proper
  medical care\, he died the following year and was buried in Philadelphia.
 \n\nThe Museum will offer the History for Lunch program in-person and thro
 ugh Zoom. To attend the lecture virtually\, register in advance to receive
  the meeting link. Registration is not required to attend the lecture in p
 erson.\n\nThe virtual program is supported by Friends of the Museum of the
  Albemarle.\n\nThe Museum of the Albemarle\, a part of the Division of Sta
 te History Museums\, Office of Archives and History\, is an agency of the 
 North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.\n\nAmerica 25
