DESCRIPTION:The Museum of the Albemarle will host our monthly History for L
 unch on Wednesday\, Mar. 4 at 12 p.m. in the Gaither Auditorium. The Museum
  of the Albemarle\, a part of the Division of State History Museums\, Offic
 e of Archives and History\, is an agency of the North Carolina Department o
 f Natural and Cultural Resources.\n\n \n\nDavid Bennett\, curator of mariti
 me history at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort\, will discuss
  how North Carolina developed a maritime logistics system that funneled des
 perately needed military supplies from Europe and the West Indies into neig
 hboring colonies to equip the Continental Army and colonial militias. Benne
 tt will examine activities at inland port towns\, such as New Bern\, Wilmin
 gton\, Edenton\, and South Quay\, to explain how supply chains were develop
 ed\, coordinated\, and regulated.\n\n \n\nThe Museum will offer the History
  for Lunch program in-person and through Zoom. To attend the lecture virtua
 lly\, register in advance to receive the meeting link. Registration is not 
 required to attend the lecture in person.\n\n \n\nThe virtual program is su
 pported by Friends of the Museum of the Albemarle.\n\n \n\nAmerica 250 NC i
