There will be historical artifacts on display representing the county's history. This includes a portrait of Continental Army Colonel William R. Davie, the county's namesake. There's also a lot of information on Daniel Boone, who lived in Davie County for seven years. His parents are buried in Mocksville's Joppa Cemetery. Feel free to browse around the room and examine historical records and documents, including a list of those who served during the American Revolution.
These artifacts and documents are located inside the Martin-Wall History Room within the Davie County Public Library in Mocksville. This room acts as the Davie County history museum. Paying a visit will allow you to explore the county's long and proud history while gaining a better understanding of the Semiquincentennial's significance. These artifacts will be on display from Monday, March 16, until at least Sunday, July 6.
