 that negatively impact local ecosystems. Join park staff at Haw River State
  Park’s Iron Ore Belt Access to help remove these leafy invaders! \n\nTypic
 al workdays start with paperwork for new volunteers (less than five minutes
 ) followed by a short hike to the work area where volunteers will receive i
 nstruction on how to identify the target species of the day. The rest of th
 e time will be used on employing hands-on\, seasonally appropriate techniqu
 es to remove invasive plants from the landscape\, helping to restore the ar
 ea for native plants and wildlife. \n\nAdvance registration is required as 
 supplies and space are limited. This opportunity is only open to volunteers
  ages 12 and up. Any volunteers under the age of 16 must be registered with
  and accompanied by an adult. \n\nVolunteers should wear long sleeves\, lon
 g pants\, and close-toed shoes. Please bring work gloves and loppers or pru
 ning shears if you have them\, but if not they will be provided (and you do
 n't need to let us know in advance either way). Meet at the parking lot of
