Join us for a relaxing morning fishing program at Lake James State Park – Catawba River Access, perfect for families and first-time anglers alike! Bring your kids, your favorite fishing rods, and any tackle you have—we’ll also have a limited number of rods and tackle available to loan.

We’ll meet at the picnic shelter, then head together to the jetty, where there’s plenty of space to spread out and fish. Spend the morning enjoying the calm water, learning a few fishing tips, and sharing quality time with loved ones while making lasting memories—plus, you just might reel in a fish or two!

Whether you’re teaching your child to fish for the first time or simply enjoying a peaceful morning outdoors, this program is a great way to connect with nature and each other.

All ages welcome. No experience necessary! All NCWRC Laws must be followed such as having a valid NC fishing license.🎣
