 n\nHow can art be used to develop student growth in literacy skills? This 
 self-paced online course explores methods for integrating art and literacy
  strategies to support North Carolina’s Literacy Instruction Standards a
 cross classrooms. Participants gain an understanding of how literacy is de
 fined through a variety of lenses and apply their learning by developing a
  lesson plan. Strategies that incorporate NCMA works of art are used to pr
 actice and apply activities to build interpretive and expressive modes of 
 literacy focused on a variety of reading materials\, comprehension\, vocab
 ulary building\, and writing. This course is designed for teachers of all 
 disciplines and audiences. A certificate of participation for 20 hours wil
 l be provided for literacy\, general\, or content area credits (2 CEU\, wi
 th prior approval from the local school system).
