Dive into the untold stories and complex strategies that led North Carolina to win big in the Revolution! In 1781, North Carolina became critical to the fight for Independence. The patriot Continental Army was led by brilliant Commissioned Officers such as Nathanael Greene, Daniel Morgan, Light Horse Harry Lee, William Washington, and John Eager Howard, who came from other states to fight in the Carolinas at the head of highly trained Continental infantry and cavalry and brave southern militia. They outfought and outmaneuvered the British Army for two critical months from mid-January to mid-March and achieved a vital link to the British surrender at Yorktown six months later.
