Join JR Shanty Co for a performance of original and classic sea shanties and songs of the sea.

Julianne Laird and Richard Laird are married and retired music teachers. Julianne has had a life-long interest in and fascination with the history and legends of the Outer Banks. Richard is an avid sailor so it was a natural fit to combine their love of music, sailing, and the Outer Banks into J.R. Shanty Co.  

The presentation is part of the museum’s Salty Dawg Speaker Series, which features presentations on North Carolina maritime history and culture. The series is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Friends of the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum. Reservations are not required. Call 252-986-0720 for more information.
